Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform Technical tasks and activities in compliance with operating and safety procedures, and according to quality specifications.
• Provide training to other team members when required.
• Liaise with team members and internal customers.
• Comply with all operating procedures and instructions operated in accordance with BSEN ISO 9002: 1994.
• Deputise for others on a temporary basis as appropriate.
• Act as first trouble-shooting technical reference point.
• Complete machine checks
• Make adjustments to processes to overcome problems
• Carry out mechanical/electrical repairs
• Lead team in failure situations, liaising with Crew Leader/Process Leader
• Initiate, recommend and contribute towards continuous improvement activities
• Operate as a member of the production team running any part of the process as required.
• Relieves across the cluster equipment
• Provide comprehensive information about failures and actions taken so that the RST can determine and implement preventive actions.
• Assist with maintenance workload, on shift and during planned shuts.
• Undertake product changeovers (Converting)
• Contractor supervision
• Assists the team to overcome operating and quality problems.
• checks equipment against centreline settings and investigates causes of deviations
Shifts
Basic pattern 2 mornings, 2 afternoons, 2nights - 4 days off
2 x periods of 16 days off (holidays) - work 6 on 2 off during these periods
The Ideal Candidate
• Ideally you will time served and have an electrical bias
• Qualified to at least NVQ lll, but HNC or equivalent advantageous
• Experience of operating PLCs (knowledge of Siemens Step 7 would be an advantage)
• Experience of PLC fault rectification, and / or programming would be an advantage, but is not essential
