Warehouse & Distribution Manager
Salary up to £35,000
Job Purpose
To co-ordinate the warehouse and despatch function in compliance to the exacting GMP and Safety standards ensuring that customer service (both internal & external ) and inventory accuracy are optimised.
To manage the distribution activities from site directly into the European Distribution network.
Principle Job Accountabilities
• Manage the warehouse function, including the management of distribution activities from the site.
• Implement and maintain full procedural and system control and ensure compliance to exacting GMP and Safety requirements in order to meet all internal and external quality standards.
• Management and co-ordination of warehouse technicians ensuring that they are sufficiently trained and qualified to aid in / support the manufacturing function.
• Maintain suitable flexibility to minimise disruption to customer requirements in the event of fluctuating demand.
• Control goods receipt, identification, placement and all other material movements ensuring 98% + inventory accuracy avoiding lost production. Inventory accuracy to be measured/maintained and reported via perpetual inventory routine.
• Create a positive environment of continuous improvement and best practice.
• Responsibility to Plan, communicate and implement changes specifically improving Safety, cGMP compliance, wastage and utilisation within department.
• Maintain team-working principles within the department and promote external co-operation and communication.
• Guides all other departments in inventory related issues.
Knowledge & Skills Required
• Educated to a minimum of HNC/HND level.
• Experience in Warehouse Management within FMCG environment.
• Excellent working knowledge of warehouse management systems.
• Fully conversant with Standard Operating Procedures methodology and awareness of cGMP.
• Proficient PC skills including Microsoft packages WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT as well as email/diary systems.
