Smithers-Oasis UK Limited (S-O UK), employing over 100 people, is the UK’s leading manufacturer and marketer of floral foam and floral foam accessory and other sundry products, under the registered brand name OASIS® Floral Products.
S-O UK today serves approximately 350 wholesale customers throughout the UK, Ireland and Israel. It manufactures about 90% of its products; the balance of sales revenue coming from either OASIS® floral foam products imported from the Danish and/or German sister companies or non floral foam products like OASIS® spray colour, tapes, designer bowls, fabric wrap and various others being contract manufactured both home and abroad.
The U.K. operation is a major player in the company’s European structure with sister plants in Germany, Demark, France, Spain, Czech Republic and Slovenia – all reporting into the Corporate Head Office in the United States.
In order to maintain its leading position and having regard to anticipated further growth, S-O UK maintains a pro-active recruitment strategy, designed to develop its employee resource and meet future demands.
2008 will be an important year for the Company in the U.K. with the completion of a new 6000 pallet space warehouse covering some 4200m2 and the transfer of production from an existing plant in Birmingham to Washington - bringing all the U.K. operations together on one site.
The current recruitment drive is for additional staff to man the existing and transferred processes and will continue throughout the summer months to fill a number of production, warehouse operator and production Team Leader vacancies.
We are seeking committed and self motivated individuals who can work well as part of a team. Good communication skills together with previous experience of ‘lean’ manufacturing techniques would be an advantage.
Full training will be given.
